Well, it’s official folks. I got accepted into the Creative Writing graduate program at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. It’s all online, which is good because I don’t live in Monticello. I haven’t taken a college class in at least a decade so this is definitely going to be interesting. I’m beyond excited. One of my first classes is a workshop on fiction? Another is a Lit class focused on Hemingway? Be still my heart.
I guess it’s true what they say: once an English major, always an English major.
Some may wonder why I would bother with getting this degree if I already write (and have even been published!) but there’s definitely more to it than that. I’m really looking to hone my craft. I feel like I’ve never really…apprenticed in the art of writing. Is it necessary? No. But I truly believe that I will come out the other side as a better writer.
Congrats, Sarah!
Congrats and good luck!
