I start grad school this week! I’m so excited y’all. But let’s just say that my first week has been an eventful one.
Tuesday afternoon I took off work early so I could pick up my niece and nephew from daycare. Their mama had brought me back sister’s car seat and I was buckling it back I to my car. I was ducked into the car and went to stand up. Well I misjudged how far into the car I was and smacked my head on the doorframe. Hard. I crumpled immediately. I managed to not pass out but it was CLOSE. It HURT. I took a few minutes to right myself. It felt like I’d hit my funny bone but on my head, if that makes sense.
So the kids stay at my house for like an hour and half until their mama gets off work. I head to urgent care cause my head feels WEIRD. The doc says I just hit a nerve and my shoulders/neck will be sore.
My symptoms got worse overnight. My vision was…wobbly, I was nauseated, I’d forget my train of thought mid-sentence. I just felt weird.
So I go see my primary doc and she talks to me for like thirty seconds before she says “Honey you have a mild concussion. Go home and take it easy.”
So yeah. I managed to give myself my first concussion the week I started grad school. A move only a Wofford could make.
Geeeeze Sister!
From one concussed person to another, Watermelon.
